MCAS Miramar East D

I've been considering the best way to describe
my quest for pools around Miramar.

I've chosen to say "West" for the Main Air Station,
along with the VA cemetery and landfill areas.
This is what we generally think of for Miramar.

"East" is the rest of it on the East/South sides of
Kearny Villa Road, Hwys 15 and 52.
This area is considerably larger than the West part,
and is mainly inaccessible (good for the pools).

The ponds in this post are at the south end of the base,
South of Hwy 163 and North of Hwy 52.
Area D in the map below.

You can see a highway because this area sits between Hwy 163 and Hwy 15.
Luckily, Kearny Villa Road runs through here so civilians
can observe the pools without "entering" the base.

The Marines are protecting the pools.
This road goes to an antenna facility.
No driving through the pool!

This land looks "swampy" even though it is high up on a mesa.
The pools form in areas you wouldn't expect.
