Technically speaking, these are out of SD County,
but I have been there and want to show you the difference
between the dry season photo of vernal pools
(satellite image below)
and my recent winter photos of the same area
(below)
It should be clear that these pools, despite their "temporary" status,
are capable of sustaining lots of life.
